Q: How do I clean my faucet?

Premier Faucet Finish Care and Cleaning Instructions

Premier faucets are manufactured with robust finishes that offer many years of finish life. Proper care, however, must be exercised to maintain the beautiful appearance of your faucet’s finish. Failure to follow finish care and cleaning instructions may result in permanent finish damage.

Each Premier faucet utilizes one of our several available finishes types. Each finish type offers varying degrees of protection against surface wear. In order to ensure that your faucet’s finish remains trouble-free, proper care must be considered as part of daily use.

To keep your faucet’s finish looking new, wipe the exterior surface of the faucet with a damp, soft cloth after each use. Removing standing surface water is the best deterrent to prevent build-up of calcium and lime deposits. Water spots result when water is allowed to stand on the surface. When the water dries, it leaves behind a mineral deposit residue.

Over time, these minerals deposits can accumulate on faucet surfaces. Heavy build-up is difficult to remove without causing finish damage. The best method for dealing with this build-up is prevention. To properly care for your faucet’s finish, simply wipe the entire faucet’s surface with a damp, soft cloth after each use. If you do experience mineral deposits on your faucet, use a 50/50 solution of white vinegar and water to remove these water stains, then rinse with water and dry with a soft cloth.

Occasional surface cleaning is sometimes needed. We recommend that the surface be cleaned only with a damp, soft cloth. Never use acids, solvent cleaners, abrasive cleansers or detergents, harsh chemicals, alcohol, or abrasive pads of any kind as they may cause permanent damage to your Premier faucet’s finish. Never scrub your faucet as this may cause the surface to become scratched.

Take care when using hairspray, nail polish and nail polish remover, cosmetics and other household cleaners and solvents around your Premier faucet. Splashing or spraying these chemical agents directly onto your exposed faucet can result in rapid and irreversible finish degradation.

Failure to properly care for your faucet’s finish may void your warranty. Refer to the Premier warranty information card for details and restrictions.

Your Premier faucet has been designed and manufactured for years of trouble-free service. By providing proper finish care for your faucet, you will ensure your faucet’s finish appearance will look new for years to come.
